Fall Concerts

November 21-22, 2015

ABOUT THE CONCERT

We will explore the process by which composers have borrowed, recomposed, or repurposed works of other composers – mostly, but as we will see, not entirely composers of the Renaissance. This is not plagiarism, but is rather most often a way one composer honors another.

Our program will include pairings of works by Orlande de Lassus and Johannes Eccard; by Heinrich Isaac and contemporary American composer Paul Chihara; by Claudio Monteverdi and William Hawley; and by Italian composer Giovanni Giacomo Gastoldi and English composer Thomas Morley.
